The Worcester Red Sox are making a big splash with the concessions in their third season at Polar Park with one of the priciest options at ballpark.
The WooSox will begin selling lobster rolls at games this season. However, the New England specialty won’t come cheap. According to a WooSox spokesperson, lobster roll prices are set at $23. (Correction: MassLive was initially told the price was $26. This was corrected by a team spokesperson Friday.)
The rolls themselves were made available for a preview at Polar Park Thursday and were served on a toasted hot dog-style bun. The lobster itself was served cold (not Connecticut style) and dressed with mayo and parsley.
The $26 price point for the lobster roll is on the higher end for concession prices at Polar Park. For comparison, concession prices from the 2022 season included: chicken tenders with fries for $11, a 12 oz. Wormtown beer for $12, an order of helmet nachos for $16 and a slice of Wonder Bar cheese pizza for $7.50.
However, the lobster roll won’t be the most expensive item in the park. Last year, a three-meat plate at B.T.’s Smokehouse cost $30 while an entire cheese pizza from Wonder Bar was $38.
The prices aren’t all crazy, though. Last year, a hot dog from George’s Coney Island was only $4. Meanwhile, the park also announced that they’ll be having Taco Tuesdays at the Taste of Worcester on Summit St. On Tuesday, fans can get a combo that includes a margarita and three tacos for $12.
Opening Day at Polar Park is set for Friday, March 31 at 4:05 p.m. against the Syracuse Mets.
