From the Darkroom: 5-year-old Billy White plays the spoons with the Country Drifters Band

Former Springfield Newspapers photographer Hyler Cooper captured this photograph of 5-year-old Billy White playing the spoons with the Country Drifters Band, which performed on Saturday, Jan. 5, 1980 at the Northtown Mall. The performance was part of a music festival sponsored by KTTS radio to raise money for United Cerebral Palsy of Southwest Missouri. The festival was held in conjunction with a telethon hosted by Springfieldian, advertising executive and ragtime piano player Gary Ellison.
