NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two people have been arrested and others are being sought in connection with Sunday morning’s deadly shooting at a short-term rental townhome in East Nashville.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Douglas Avenue around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8 to respond to a shooting call at a short-term rental townhome, which had been booked by a woman for her 20^th birthday party. 

Upon arrival, Metro police located two victims — 18-year-old Taurus Oglesby and a 17-year-old boy, both from Nashville. 

According to an arrest affidavit, four suspects entered the party at the short-term rental and robbed individuals at gunpoint. The suspects then opened fire and struck Oglesby and the 17-year-old victim.

An arrest affidavit says officers found Oglesby lying on the ground outside the front door suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Oglesby was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died. 

Court records say the second victim was found lying on the second floor with multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen and neck. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and remains in critical condition, according to an arrest affidavit. 

Metro police said at least 20 people were in attendance at the party. Witnesses stated that after the shooting all four suspects ran from the scene, entered a running vehicle and fled.

On Monday morning, officers arrested 19-year-old Andre Johnson at a home on Creekwood Drive and booked him into the Metro Jail on chares of criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide and three counts of aggravated robbery. He is being held in the Metro Jail without bond, according to arrest records.

The second suspect, identified as 17-year-old Quandre Beasley, was shot during the attempted robbery and is being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police said just after the gunfire, Beasley, who was reportedly driving his mother’s car, got out and approached a police officer on James Robertson Parkway with wounds to his jaw and neck. Arrest warrants have been issued charging Beasley with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide and three counts of aggravated robbery. He will be booked once he is discharged from the hospital.

Investigators are trying to determine why Beasley was on the streets.

This also is not Beasley’s first run-in with the law as police said he was arrested after he jumped out of a moving, stolen 2019 Ford Raptor pickup truck on Dickerson Pike at Ben Allen Road. While he was being held in the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center, Beasley complained of seizures and was taken to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

When the ambulance arrived at Vanderbilt, Beasley got out and ran to a stolen Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck that was waiting for him. The Juvenile Detention Center employee who went with Beasley to the hospital ran after him, but a person wearing a ski mask got out of the truck and said they had a gun, according to police.

Beasley fled in the truck, which investigators found on fire later that night. Two days later, investigators said Beasley and a woman were arrested two days later after a traffic stop in Cartersville, Georgia.

Beasley was returned to Nashville and charged in Juvenile Court with escape, vehicle theft, assault, evading arrest and two counts of armed robbery. He was also identified as the gunman who, on April 9, 2022, robbed a couple in the 600 block of Hume Street, according to police.

The victims told police they were on the sidewalk about to go inside their home when Beasley approached them from behind. The woman said Beasley put a gun to her head and got away with her purse and the man’s wallet.

A third suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Keesean Campbell. Police said he has outstanding homicide and robbery warrants; anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

The fourth suspect has not yet been identified.
