She revealed that the delay in signing the divorce papers was because her ex-husband tried to mend his relationship with her, and not because he had any interest in her assets. She then proceeded to dish out some advice to her followers.

First and foremost, she noted, writing, "Divorce does not equal failure. We did not fail; it simply did not work." Praying for herself and her ex, she added, "I pray for his wellbeing as I do my own and I wish him nothing but God's choicest blessings."

Moving on, she wrote, "If you have anything to protect going into a marriage, get a prenuptial agreement, so there's no confusion if it comes to an end."

Her colleagues and fans seemed to agree with her and expressed their thoughts in her comment section, with one writing, "Thank You for Using Your voice To protect Truth ?✈️? We Don't Have To Be With Someone To Give Them The Love & Respect They Deserve ???."

A rather impressed fan wrote, "Very Classy my dear!! Well said!!!! ?❤️." Legendary rapper, Fat Joe, wrote, "Lyte we don't care about what these people say… WE LOVE YOU," while American filmmaker, Ava DuVernay, eulogized MC Lyte, writing, "Spoken and written like a true icon."
