The Assyrian Australian Association would like to thank everyone who attended the 2022 Rabi Nimrod Simono Scholarship last Thursday in celebration of our 2021 graduates and recipients. The night once again allowed us to celebrate the importance of education and the legacy of the Rabi Nimrod Simono Scholarship in welcoming a new group to our alumni who continue to work within the Assyrian Community. We would also like to thank all of our sponsors for their continued support; ACERO (Assyrian Church of the East Relief Organisation), Mortgage Nest, NEC Accountants Pty Ltd, Dr. Ramina Jajoo-Frindrich, Nina Larkin and M1Media Films and Livestreaming.

Yesterday, the AAA Board, alongside Carmen Lazar OAM JP Councillor Programme Manager Consortium Lead from the Assyrian Resource Centre, met with the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) Board to continue discussions on how we can better educate Assyrians about key health issues in our community. Through our joint efforts, we have disseminated information in Assyrian via webinars and radio programs. An important initiative worked on has been increasing the availability and awareness of breast cancer screening by providing access to breast cancer screening mobile vans. We thank the SWSLHD for the invitation to collaborate and look forward to working together to improve the wellbeing of our community.
