After missing out on two previous editions of the festival, Foo Fighters are headlining Boston Calling 2023.
The rock group are one of three headliners for the annual music festival, which will return to the Harvard Athletic Complex from May 26-28, 2023. Foo Fighters will headline Friday’s show, while The Lumineers and Paramore will headline Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Foo Fighters were originally announced as headliners for Boston Calling 2020, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They were later announced as headliners of Boston Calling 2022, but had to bow out due to the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
More than 50 artists will perform at this year’s festival, including top acts like Alanis Morissette (performing in Boston for the first time since 2012), Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Other acts near the top of the marquee are The National, Noah Kahan, Bleachers, Niall Horan, The Flaming Lips, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, who had to cancel their performance at Boston Calling 2022 at the last minute due to a positive COVID result.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, via the Boston Calling website.
Along with the VIP, Platinum, and GA ticket tiers, Boston Calling 2023 is introducing a GA+ ticket level for this year’s festival. GA+ ticketholders can access the festival’s VIP Reserve Lounge, an “oasis within the festival” featuring craft cocktails, an expanded beer and wine menu, and complimentary water and soft drinks, according to a press release.
More details about the amenities for each of the pricing tiers is available on the Boston Calling website. 3-day passes start at $300 plus fees for GA, $500 plus fees for GA+, $950 for VIP, and $1900 for Platinum. 1-day passes start at $140 plus fees for GA, $240 plus fees for GA+, $380 plus fees for VIP, and $900 plus fees for Platinum.
