Community members picked up brushes for a painting project on Mission Viejo’s Oso Creek Trail over the weekend.

They were helping to transform the tunnel the trail passes through at Jeronimo Road and Arbolitos into a public art piece. The “Tunnel Vibration” mural will take advantage of an optical illusion that will make the tunnel’s walls appear by vibrate because of the high-contract colors that are being painted along its length.

The city even plans to host concerts in the park later that will make use of the tunnel’s acoustic properties to further connect with the mural’s theme.
