“Thanks to this system, officers can observe the border from the headquarters of the border agency,” Michalska said.

“The detection systems will send warnings, and the algorithms for these messages will be designed so that the border guard has to respond only to real attempts of border crossing by people, and not animals.”

Michalska noted that the radio-electronic system will operate at about 200 kilometers of Poland’s land border with Kaliningrad.

On Oct. 2, it was reported that Poland has finished the construction of a 187 kilometers long, 5.5 meters tall wall on the border with Belarus. The fence is made of steel panels with barbed wire at the top.
