The Pearl Beach Lions Club is hosting a Super Bowl party, with proceeds benefiting the club’s community activities.
“We will be watching the football game while enjoying food and friendship with the community,” Pearl Beach Lions Club Secretary Crystal Briskey said. “This is an opportunity for people to hang out while enjoying the game. We will have cards and board games out on the tables for people to play if they want. We will also have football squares, 50/50, pull tabs and other raffles.”
The other raffles include a basket of cheer and baskets donated by local businesses. There will also be food served, including chicken wings, chips, salsa, dips, veggies and other snack foods.
“We wanted to provide a safe place for people to watch the game in a large group setting,” Briskey said. “We have been planning this since just before Christmas.”
She said proceeds from the event will go toward the Pearl Beach Lions Club’s annual Easter event, where it gives away baskets filled with goodies to the children of the community. Any leftover funds will go into the club’s activities account, which goes directly back into the community.
The Super Bowl party will take place Feb. 12 at the Pearl Beach Lions Club, located at 9590 Phelps Road in Clay Township. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and the game will start at 6:30 p.m.
“We are looking forward to having some fun with members of the community and hopefully seeing some new faces,” Briskey said.
