A portal has been created on sharepoint to house all the COVID-19 updates and information relevant to DOP faculty and staff. The portal includes:

All DOP faculty, staff, residents and fellows should have access to the sharepoint but if you find you do not have access when logging in then you should be able to request access. To access the sharepoint, click the link below and login using your BlazerID email (uab.edu).

Wellness Resources

UAB Employee Assistance & Counseling Center
UAB Employee Assistance & Counseling Center offers free, confidential support services for UAB employees and members of their immediate household. During this time they are offering telemedicine counseling services, mental health resources and self-care tips.

UAB Department of Pediatrics Faculty Wellness
The Faculty Wellness team seeks to provide opportunities and resources for individuals to advance whole-person wellness and to encourage and support a culture of thriving within the Department of Pediatrics. Resources now are focused on supporting faculty during the current pandemic.

Childcare Services

UAB Medicine Emergency Childcare Services
UAB Medicine will be offering a childcare subsidy for any personnel required to be on-site to deliver patient care or critical business functions necessary to support our clinical mission. Click the link above for details.

Near & Dear
Near & Dear (N&D) mildly ill services are, by state regulation, limited to use by COA staff who are ON CAMPUS. For on-campus use, it is important to call ahead before bringing the child in, as the mildly ill area may be full, or on occasion, must be closed as it is this week.
 
N&D backup care is available to BOTH on campus, and off-campus COA staff (e.g. pediatric practices, South, etc.).

YMCA of Greater Birmingham
Emergency all-day childcare program for healthcare workers and first responders.

Financial Resources

Employee Emergency Assistance
For employees who are struggling financially during this time, they can apply to the Employee Emergency Assistance fund.

Blazer Kitchen
For employees or students who are struggling to feed their families during this time, Blazer Kitchen will continue to provide food via a drive-thru process.

TIAA Consultants
On-campus appointments with consultants from TIAA have been temporarily suspended. To schedule a meeting by phone visit tiaa.org/schedulenow or call 1-800-732-8353, weekdays between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to make an appointment.

Grand Rounds

Out of an abundance of caution, all live Pediatric Medical Grand Rounds in the Bradley Lecture Center will be canceled until further notice. We hope to offer live-streamed Grand Rounds going forward as we are able to schedule them. Visit the Grand Rounds website for upcoming livestream opportunities. On-demand Grand Rounds are available for CME. Instructions to access them are below.

Follow the login instructions on the Cloud CME page and then clicking on the Online tab located at the top of the screen. This provides a menu of prior Grand Rounds in reverse chronological order.

Canceled/Postponed Events
