Winter Storm Warning Issued in Northwest Kansas Amid 'Dangerous' Travel Conditions

A winter storm warning was issued for Goodland, Kansas, on Tuesday, January 17, with travel conditions in the area described as “dangerous”.

Footage posted on Facebook late on January 17 by the National Weather Service in Goodland shows heavy snow falling outside its office. “So far we have about half an inch of snow,” the caption read.

Earlier in the day, NWS Goodland issued a winter storm warning for “heavy, wet snow”, with total accumulations “ranging anywhere from five to 13 inches”.
