A 4.6-magnitude earthquake hit the province of Jujuy, northwestern Argentina on Thursday.
In a statement, the US Geological Survey said that the tremor occurred 145 km southeast of the province's San Salvador at a depth of 202 km.
So far, there have been no reports of human or material losses as a result of the tremor.
Last May, an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck northern Argentina.
