CBSE Class 10th Hindi Exam Analysis: Writing section rated lengthy, MCQs easy

CBSE Class 10th Hindi Paper Analysis: The paper was easy to moderate, all questions were based from NCERT. Literature section required students to have in-depth knowledge.

CBSE Class 10th Hindi Paper Analysis: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today conducted the Hindi exam for Class 10. Indianexpress.com spoke to some teachers and students to know what they thought of the question paper.

As per the teachers, the language section was easier than the literature section. They said the literature section was thought-provoking and required in-depth knowledge of the lessons.

The CBSE Class 10 exams which began on February 15 are scheduled to get over on March 21.

Subha Chandra Jha, Senior TGT, Deputy Head (Dept. of Hindi) at Modern English School, Guwahati said that the question paper was well-designed and well-balanced. The pattern of the question paper was the same as the sample paper released by CBSE. “All the questions were from the prescribed syllabus of NCERT. The difficulty level was easy to moderate. Around 60 per cent questions were knowledge and understanding based. While, 20 per cent were application-based, and the remaining 20 per cent were high order thinking questions which required critical thinking. The paper can be completed within the stipulated time. Except for a few, most of the questions in section-A (MCQs), including grammar, were fairly easy. Questions in the other section had familiar topics. The literature section required in-depth reading of the content and tested understanding and analytical skills,” he said.

Deepika Mehra, TGT Hindi at DPS Raj Nagar Extension, the difficulty level of the Hindi course B question paper was easy to moderate, with most of the questions being based on understanding and application. “The question paper was set in a way which provoked reasoning and thoughtfulness among the students. A few questions in the literature section were analytical, the questions required a deep understanding of the lesson content. On the other hand, some questions were direct and easy also. Students would score well in grammar as questions were as per expectation. According to some students, the writing section was slightly lengthy in nature. The paper did not include anything unpredictable as the question paper pattern was almost the same as in the CBSE sample paper. Overall, it was a well-balanced paper,” she said.

According to Seema Bhatnagar, TGT Hindi, DPS Indirapuram, Delhi the difficulty level of the Class 10 Hindi paper was moderate. Most of the MCQs were direct and the pattern was in accordance with the CBSE sample paper.

“The paper was moderate, balanced, and average. The questions were mainly based on CBSE guidelines. The questions were average. Students were able to attempt the paper in time. The paper pattern was similar to the CBSE Sample Paper for the Session 2022-23. MCQs were mostly easy,” said Vinni Sharma, TGT Hindi at Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad.

The duration of the paper was three hours, it began at 10:30 am and got over at 1:30 pm

Pooja Pal, a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya SGPGI, Lucknow said, “My paper went pretty well. There were 17 questions in total. The paper had two sections— grammar and literature. I particularly did not feel that there were difficult questions.”

The next exam will be conducted on March 21 and it will be Mathematics. With that, CBSE will conclude the Class 10 board exams for the academic year 2022-23.
