Canvas Credit Union, Canvas Foundation awarded $295K in 2022 grants

DENVER —  Canvas Credit Union and Canvas Foundation awarded $295,000 in grants and donations to 35 organizations during 2022.

“Canvas Credit Union is passionate about serving our branch communities through our financial education empowerment programs and our volunteerism,” Malcolm Johnson, vice president of community engagement at Canvas Credit Union, said in a prepared statement. “The remarkable, community-driven accomplishments of this past year are a direct reflection of the hearts and efforts of our Canvas Credit Union employees and our Canvas Foundation, who worked together to support thousands of members and hundreds of nonprofits across Colorado.”

Business Cares: April 2024

In Colorado, 1 in 3 women, 1 in 3 men and 1 in 2 transgender individuals will experience an attempted or completed sexual assault in their lifetime. During April, we recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month with the hopes of increasing conversations about this very important issue.

  • Raised more than $200,000 to support victims of the Marshall Fire through the American Red Cross.
  • Donated $50,000 to Children’s Hospital Colorado from the proceeds of its annual Kick-Off for Kids and Shop for Miracles fundraising efforts.
  • Raised more than $57,000 at the second annual Canvas Foundation Golf Tournament to support Special Olympics Colorado.
  • Donated $15,000 from the proceeds of two Hero Fest celebrations to support the It’s a Calling Foundation and the 9/11 Memorial at Spring Park project.
  • Awarded $50,000 in college scholarships to 35 students attending 21 different colleges and universities.
