Aquarium animals get sweet treat in spirit of Florida Strawberry Festival

In honor of this year’s annual Florida Strawberry Festival, the Florida Aquarium

got into the spirit and fed a bunch of its residents the delicious treat.

Among the animals receiving this juicy fruit were the ring-tailed lemurs and a yellow head Amazon parrot.

Strawberries are a regular part of the animals’ regular nutritious diet.

The 88th annual Florida Strawberry Festival kicked off in Plant City on Thursday and runs through next Sunday.

This year includes plenty of entertainment, headlining acts such as Ludacris, Tanya Tucker and an already-sold-out Willie Nelson show and more, including, of course, strawberries.

This year’s Strawberry Festival theme is ‘We have a winner,’ which is in honor of strawberry shortcake becoming the state dessert of Florida.
