Leonard Floyd Pianalto passed away at his home on Feb. 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Leonard was born on July 9, 1929, in Tontitown and lived his 93 years making his hometown a better place. He was the 9th child of 13 children born to the late Leo and Lucy Pianalto. He was raised in a farming family who were faithful Catholics, knew the value of hard work, and was taught to treat others with dignity and respect. Leonard left the farm in 1949 to begin his career at Heekin Can Company in Springdale, where he took pride in his work; first as a mechanic and later as the assembly supervisor. He retired in 1987 and enjoyed camping, trout fishing, repairing old lawnmowers, and riding his bicycle. Leonard lived each day as a gift and rarely had a bad day. Even as his aging body prevented him from pursuing his work and hobbies, his approach to living each day to its fullest never changed. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Eugene, Lawrence, Gabe, Oliver, Leo Jr., Francis, Edward, Raymond Pianalto, and his sisters Olivia Pianalto, Olivia (Pianalto) Ciganaro, and Lillian (Pianalto) Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Evelyn (Reynolds) Pianalto, sons Stan Pianalto, and wife Becky, Eric Pianalto, and wife Dawn all of Tontitown. His grandchildren Nicole (Pianalto) Spear, husband Shane, Christian Pianalto, Brooke (Pianalto) Raymond, husband Taylor, Mikayla (Pianalto) Eveld, husband Andrew, and Hannah Pianalto. Bonus grandchildren Teresa LoPiccolo, Ashley (Cheek) Schulz, husband Brandon, Jonathon Cheek, wife Elizabeth. Great-grandchild Luka Spear and bonus great-grandchildren Ayden LoPiccolo, Emma LoPiccolo, Josie Schulz, Breelee Cheek, Rayland Schulz, and Hunter Cheek. One sister Juanita (Pianalto) Coger of Springdale. The family will receive friends and family at St. Joseph Catholic Church Tontitown from 5-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27 followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m., and the Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church Tontitown. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale.
