Michael Schumacher finished in the top three in nine of the last 10 Brazilian Grand Prixs, including three victories. ... McLaren won the race for the first time in 1974, with Emerson Fittipaldi driving. The group leads all constructors with 10 victories at Interlagos. ... Ferrari will debut its new F2002 car at Brazil with Michael Schumacher driving. ... Juan Pablo Montoya led for 30 laps in last year's race before being knocked out following a crash with Jos Verstappen. ... Interlagos in considered one of the toughest tracks on the F1 circuit because it was built on unstable ground, causing the road to be bumpy.

Winston Cup
Last race: Kurt Busch took the lead after tapping the rear end of Jimmy Spencer's Dodge with 55 laps to go and held on to win the Food City 500 at Bristol. It was Busch's first victory in 48 career Winston Cup starts.

CART
Last race: Cristiano Da Matta ran a nearly flawless race to successfully defend his Monterrey Grand Prix title on March 10. The Brazilian now has three straight CART victories.

IRL
Last race: Points leader Sam Hornish Jr. edged Jaques Lazier by .0281 seconds -- the second-closest finish in IRL history -- to win the Yamaha Indy 400 at California Speedway.

Busch
Last race: Jeff Green survived a record-tying 14 cautions and a final shootout after a red-flag to win his 15th career Busch series event in the Channellock 250 at Bristol.

Craftsman Truck
Last race: Ted Musgrave passed Robert Pressley with 12 laps to go, then held him off to win the Craftsman Anniversary 200 at Darlington Raceway.

NHRA
Last event: Larry Dixon grabbed an NHRA national event victory for the second time this season by defeating Top Fuel rival Kenny Bernstein at Gainesville Raceway. Tony Pedregon, Darrell Alderman and Craig Treble won their respective categories.
