All eyes were on Rihanna once again at the Oscars Sunday after the global megastar and business beauty mogul stepped out on the champagne-colored carpet in a sheer black and leather Alaïa form-fitting gown.
Not only was the billionaire stunning, but she also brought along her most prized possession on display – her baby bump, according to reports from CNN and Elle.
The singer, who is expecting her second baby with rapper A$AP Rocky, later changed into an embellished black Maison Margiela bra with print pants and hit the stage to perform her hit song, “Lift Me Up,” from the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack.
The entire ensemble included a crystal-embellished black bra and floral pants with golden accents and was completed with elbow-reaching black leather gloves. The show-stopping outfit was custom-made for her by the label’s creative director, John Galliano, according to reports.
After, Rihanna then switched to her third look for the evening: a custom mint green bustier and skirt from Bottega Veneta, accompanied by a shearling stole set and gloves. The expectant mother of one posed for pictures alongside A$AP Rocky before joining the crowd to watch the rest of the show, according to reports.
Doting fans shared her look on Twitter while she sat in the audience beside A$AP Rocky.
No slouch alongside his girlfriend, fans also noticed the rapper who was dressed in a white suit next to her and received a great deal of attention when he enthusiastically stood and raised a champagne glass to the mother of his child after her performance, according to Elle.
“Lift Me Up” was nominated in the Best Original Song category and also earned a nod at Golden Globe Awards. But both the Oscar and the Golden Globe awards eventually went to the song “Naatu Naatu” from the Indian movie “RRR,” CNN reported.
As for the singer’s bold style, when it comes to maternity fashion, don’t ever expect “boring” from Rihanna.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle.’ I’m sorry — it’s too much fun to get dressed up,” Rihanna said to Vogue for the magazine’s May 2022 cover story. “I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”
