A large Oregon-based coffee chain is planning to perk up Orlando with its first store in Florida serving sweet coffee drinks near Walt Disney World.

Dutch Bros. Coffee plans to open first at 11184 S. Apopka Vineland Road, along with a Davenport store at U.S. Highway 27 and Jacks Road, and a third at Osceola Polk Line Road and Kemp Road in Four Corners, spokeswoman Madison Fahey said Thursday. All Dutch Bros. shops are drive-throughs, Fahey said.

Construction should begin by the end of the year and those stores should open next year, Fahey said.

Another Central Florida Dutch Bros. could be coming to east Orange County.

Orange County records contain a preliminary review item for discussion about a Dutch Bros. drive-through at 12200 Lake Underhill Road, south of State Road 408 and the Waterford Lakes Town Center. Fahey said the company doesn’t have any information to provide on that yet.

“Orlando’s known to have a lot of small communities within a metropolitan area, which gives us the opportunity to be part of unique communities within the larger city,” Fahey said.

Dutch Bros. serves specialty coffee, smoothies, teas, nitrogen-infused cold brew coffee and other beverages.

Coffee offerings include the Kicker, made with espresso, half and half, and Irish cream syrup; the Annihilator with espresso, half and half, and chocolate macadamia nut syrup; and the Caramelizer caramel mocha with espresso, chocolate milk, caramel sauce, and whipped cream.

Dutch Bros. also serves chocolate chip, lemon poppy seed and orange cranberry muffin tops.

Dutch Bros. started in Grants Pass, Oregon, in 1992 and now has more than 670 stores in 14 states.

It’s the latest coffee news energizing Central Florida, as Winter Park-founded Foxtail Coffee Co. revealed last month it plans to have 60 stores by the end of March, including its first in Nevada.
