Minnesota beat Canisius in the Fargo Regional in bludgeoning fashion on Thursday. The Gophers won 9-2 in what was a one-goal game heading into the third period. Minnesota then proceeded to score six in the final period making a huge statement. There were seven Gophers that scored but none shone brighter than Bryce Brodzinski who netted a hat trick. Minnesota looked every part of the No. 1 overall seed as it scored the second most goals in an NCAA Tournament game.

St. Cloud State looked impressive on the defensive side of the puck getting a shutout against Minnesota State. The Huskies won 4-0 after a phenomenal performance by goalie Jaxon Castor. The senior stopped 34 shots as it was the first time a St. Cloud St. goaltender earned a shutout in an NCAA Tournament game. The Huskies and Gophers are making history all over the place. This is set up to be a phenomenal Regional Final.
