McKinney was reassigned to minor-league camp Sunday.
McKinney signed with the Yankees as a non-roster invitee in December, and it's hardly a surprise he won't be included on the Opening Day roster. The 28-year-old had a .476 OPS in 14 spring games and is coming off a 2022 campaign during which he went 5-for-52 in 23 contests for the Athletics.
