Maryland in top 5 states with fewest COVID-19-related deaths

Maryland is now one of the top five states being recognized with the fewest COVID-19-related deaths per 100,000 people, according to a new study published in the Journal Lancet.

Hawaii was ranked number one, followed by New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and then Maryland.

Maryland’s rate was 285 deaths per 100,000 people.

The national average was 372.

The highest, according to the analysis, was Washington, D.C., with a death rate that almost doubles Maryland’s.
