  1. Nearly half of Florida cities with the fastest growing prices are in the South Florida area. Media organization Stacker used Zillow data to track how real estate changed over the past year in the report. The price changes come amid record inflation and rising interest rates. (Florida Patch)
  2. Miami Lakes in South Florida is in shock after an apparent murder-suicide left five people dead at a home Friday morning. The incident happened in the 14800 block of Northwest 87th Court, according to authorities. An investigation is now underway. (NBC Miami)
  3. Homestead Mayor Steve Losner is running for mayor again and hopes to win four more years in office. Mayor Losner has officially filed for the race, according to the City Clerk’s Office. He has been involved in public life with the city since 2001. (Florida Politics)
  4. A Miami Beach doctor is being accused of human trafficking and child solicitation. The case involves two teenage girls. Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said the doctor is accused of committing the alleged crimes between April 27 and Aug. 3, 2022. The doctor still has his medical license, according to court records. (WPLG Local 10)
  5. The collapse of California’s Silicon Valley Bank could impact Miami's growing tech sector. The popular startup bank opened a location in Brickell in 2021 and frequently lends to the startup community. It is the second-largest bank failure in U.S. history. (Subscription: Miami Herald)
