GRAND FORKS — Carrie Underwood brings her show, “The Denim & Rhinestones Tour,” to the Alerus Center on Thursday, Oct. 27. The event, which also features guest artist Jimmie Allen, begins at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Underwood, who has earned eight Grammy Awards, has been named the Academy of Country Music “Entertainer of the Year” three times — the first female to win twice and the only female to win three times.

She has sold more than 66 million records worldwide, recorded 28 number one singles — 14 of which she co-wrote — and has seven albums that are certified Platinum or Multi-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, all while continuing to sell out arena tours across North America and the United Kingdom.

In the 17 years since her win on the show “American Idol” she has skyrocketed to the top of Gold and Platinum history with more than 70 certifications, continuing her reign as the number one certified Country female artist in music history for digital singles.

Thursday’s show at the Alerus will also feature guest artist Jimmie Allen, who was nominated for his first Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2022. He also received Country Music Association and ACM wins for New Artist of the Year and New Male Artist of the year, respectively, in 2021. His third album, “Tulip Drive,” was released in June.

Underwood released her highly-anticipated album, “Denim & Rhinestones,” in June. This marks her latest collaboration with David Garcia, with whom she co-produced her critically-acclaimed 2018 release, “Cry Pretty.” Garcia and Underwood also co-produced Underwood’s 2021 Grammy Award-winning album of gospel hymns, “My Savior.”

The lead single from her new Denim & Rhinestones album, “Ghost Story,” is climbing the charts and has garnered more than 30 million global streams.

“I’m thrilled to be hitting the road again with ‘The Denim & Rhinestones Tour,’ ” Underwood said in a news release. “I’m excited to bring the new music of ‘Denim & Rhinestones’ to life on tour, as well as put new spins on familiar favorites.”

Before launching “The Denim & Rhinestones Tour” earlier this year, Underwood performed in her “Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency” at the Resorts World Theatre. The first artist to grace the largest and tallest stage in Las Vegas, Underwood opened the 5,000-capacity, world-class theater with a sold-out engagement in December 2021, followed by sold-out runs in March and April. She has announced that she plans to continue the Las Vegas residency in 2023, after her current arena tour ends.

Underwood has emerged as a multi-format, multi-media superstar, with achievements spanning music, television, film, book-publishing, and health and fitness business entrepreneurship. Her fitness lifestyle book, “Find Your Path: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit52 Life,” was an instant New York Times bestseller.

Her Christmas album, “My Gift,” released in 2020, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country, Christian and Holiday charts in its first week.

Her ninth album, “My Savior,” features beloved gospel songs she grew up singing in church. It debuted No. 1 on the Billboard Country Chart, making it her ninth consecutive release to do so, extending her record as the only artist to accomplish that feat with all nine of her album releases from the beginning of her career. The album was brought to life with “My Savior: Live From The Ryman,” a virtual live concert performance from the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, which streamed live globally on Facebook on Easter Sunday, raising more than $112,000 for the Save the Children charity.

Tickets for Underwood’s show at the Alerus range from $36 to $147; they are available online at www.aleruscenter.com/events/detail/carrieunderwood or www.ticketmaster.com . Exclusive VIP packages, which include close-up seating, meet-and-greet opportunities and custom merchandise, are also available. For more information, call the Alerus box office at (701) 792-1417.

Underwood is continuing her practice of designating a portion of ticket sales from her tours to support worthwhile charities and organizations. One dollar from each ticket sold on “The Denim & Rhinestone Tour” will go to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which helps the families of those who responded to the 9/11 attacks receive mortgage-free homes and custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. The foundation is also committed to eradicating veterans homelessness and aiding the victims of major U.S. disasters.
