IN THE CELEBRATION THIS WEEK. OUR HARVEST AT THE JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY ARE ASKING FOR SOME HELP FROM CHIEFS KINGDOM THIS WEEK. THEY’RE TRYING TO COLLECT ITEMS TO PRESERVE THIS HISTORIC MOMENT OF ANOTHER CHIEFS SUPER BOWL GAME. TONIGHT’S MATT EVANS SHOWS US WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR. WE’RE A SMALL LITTLE AREA LIKE OUR OUR OFFICES ARE PRETTY SMALL, BUT WE HAVE A LOT OF HISTORY HERE, FROM RELICS TO RECORDS. THE JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY WANTS TO TELL THE STORY OF THE COUNTY. OUR JOB HERE IS TO PRESERVE HISTORY AND THEN EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT IT. AND THAT STORY RIGHT NOW IS MISSING A MAJOR PIECE. IT’S REALLY A SMALL COLLECTION OF THE MORE THAN 50,000 ARTIFACTS. THEY HAVE. ONLY A HANDFUL REPRESENT THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS. ALL RIGHT. NOW WE REALLY DON’T HAVE A LOT I WOULD SAY AT MOST WE HAVE TEN ITEMS WHICH TWO. ARCHIVIST DANIELLE HALL IS A LITTLE SURPRISED, CONSIDERING HOW BIG OF A ROLE THE TEAM HAS PLAYED IN OUR HISTORY AND IN OUR CULTURE TODAY. I THINK THE CHIEFS ARE A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF JACKSON COUNTY. THAT’S WHY THEY’RE ASKING THE PUBLIC FOR CHIEFS ITEMS IN KEY CHIEFS ITEMS THAT WILL HELP PRESERVE THIS MOMENT IN TIME. YOU HAVE ITEMS THAT YOU BOUGHT JUST FOR THIS GAME. WE’LL TAKE ON BECAUSE IN A YEAR, TECHNICALLY, THEY’LL BE HISTORY, BECAUSE THIS HISTORY WE ARE ALL EXPERIENCING RIGHT NOW IS A STORY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS IN JACKSON COUNTY. WE’LL WANT TO KNOW. An auction set to be hosted in Las Vegas will feature multiple pieces of sports memorabilia tied to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The items are expected to fetch quite a pretty penny. Tuesday, The MINT Collective, an event that brings together vendors, companies and investors in sports memorabilia and collectibles, announced The MINT Auction, presented by eBay.The two featured Mahomes-related memorabilia pieces are expected to fetch nearly $300,000 combined.A Patrick Mahomes Kaboom Green BGS 9.5 #’d 1/1 (Estimate: $70,000)A Patrick Mahomes 2017 National Treasures Black RPA BGS 9 #D /5 (Estimate: $200,000)In 2021, a Mahomes rookie trading card broke the record for the most expensive football card ever sold. That card sold for $861,000.Also among the auction items: A Michael Jordan 1986 Fleer Rookie Card PSA 10, a Giannis Antetokounmpo 2013 National Treasures RPA BGS 9.5, and a Lou Gehrig 1925 Exhibits Rookie Card PSA 2.The 100-plus lot auction features memorabilia, photos, sports art, video games and technology collectibles and historical artifacts. The auction runs from March 29 to April 8 on eBay as part of The MINT Collective event, from March 30 to April 2 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.

  • A Patrick Mahomes 2017 National Treasures Black RPA BGS 9 #D /5 (Estimate: $200,000)

In 2021, a Mahomes rookie trading card broke the record for the most expensive football card ever sold. That card sold for $861,000.
