Love Bank Park Grand Opening | April 21
Since 2015, the two vacant lots at the corner of Cherokee and Nebraska streets have been a community park, built around a basketball hoop and the idea of banking on love. On Sunday, a redevelopment opens, launching ambitious plans for a new basketball court, a stage, green space, seating, and more. The grand opening festivities will include pizza, chess, basketball, beer, and mariachi, and more. Noon–4 p.m. Love Bank Park, Cherokee and Nebraska streets.

Record Store Day | April 20
Independent record stores worldwide will celebrate on Saturday with special exclusive releases from favorite artists and take the party offline and into real life. There are a ton of local record stores officially participating—and if you don’t see your favorite spot listed, it’s still worth a call to see if they have some of what you want. Among the usual suspects in St. Louis: Euclid Records, Vintage Vinyl, and Dead Wax Records. See website for details.
ThurtenE Carnival | April 19–21
This weekend, experience the nation’s oldest and largest student-run carnival, with food, rides, games, and performances. This year’s theme is Once Upon a Carnival. 4–8 p.m. Fri, 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Sat and Sun. Francis Field, Washington University’s Danforth Campus.
Pere Marquette Mushroom Festival | April 21
Spring is here, which means morel mushrooms. For true morel mavens, foraging locations are closely guarded secrets. But if you want to get started on hunting—or skip that entirely and just eat a bunch of the tasty little guys—head to the 15th annual Mushroom Festival. 420 Street Fest | April 20
The second annual festival on the Delmar Loop will "celebrate the counterculture of the 420 holiday," with art, music, and more. Visitors can get insights into the cannabis industry and shop a range of vendors. 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Delmar Loop.
