Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:

  1. Police are investigating an assault that took place early Monday morning that left a victim seriously injured with life-threatening injuries. Around 3:30 a.m., an incident was reported to the police at the intersection of North 2nd Street and Cleveland Street of a victim being seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. As investigators look for more information, they will review doorbell cameras and ask potential witnesses about the incident. Currently, there are no suspects under arrest and no description was provided. (WKRN News 2)
  2. A Friday night turned hectic as a shooting took place at Red Door Saloon, a popular midtown bar. Witnesses say the incident occurred when two men began to argue over a gun falling out of the suspect's pants. Bouncers removed the individual from the bar, who then appeared at the door and began firing shots into the crowded bar. A victim in the crowd was shot in the leg; he told his family he is doing well and is expected to be okay. The bar did not stay closed and was open for business again on Saturday. No arrests have been reported at this time as information is still being gathered. (WZTV)
  3. Global superstar Madonna will be making a stop in Nashville, performing at Bridgestone Arena as part of her "The Celebration Tour." The icon will be in Nashville on Dec. 22 and tickets will be going on sale this Friday at 10:00 a.m. Special guest Bob the Drag Queen will be accompanying Madonna on her tour. Up to eight tickets can be purchased per person. (Local Today)
