Saginaw’s Dynamic Corvettes giving ‘custom touch’ to Easter bunnies

SAGINAW, MI - Working with their hands is what they know best at Dynamic Corvettes in Old Town Saginaw.

While the crew is usually working on cars, this year they took on the task of fixing and polishing up the beloved fiberglass Easter bunnies that are set out on the courthouse lawn in spring.

“There’s really nothing hard about what we do, we’re just resembling something that’s broken,” Dynamic Corvettes owner Steve Snow said.

Snow believes this is the second time they have worked on the bunnies. They reattach broken pieces, fix cracks, sand down rough spots, paint and more to make the bunnies extra eye catching.

It is important to Snow to be creative with the cars and when it comes to the bunnies, he said some will have “a little custom touch.”

“It’s kind of rewarding to know that we’re part of the community and giving back to the community and it’s what life is all about,” Snow said.

Dynamic Corvettes has been located in Old Town Saginaw since 2001. The shop employs about a dozen people and does restoration and collision work and manufactures custom fiberglass.

The Old Town Saginaw Association has 20 bunnies. Paul Barrera, owner of Jake’s Old City Grill and an event organizer, said the Old Town Easter Egg Hunt has become a much-anticipated annual tradition thanks to the efforts and contributions of the many Old Town business owners, residents and volunteers and Saginaw County Parks & Recreation Department staff who make it possible.

The annual egg hunt will begin at noon on Saturday, April 8 at Borchard Park for toddlers, followed by children ages 4 to 6 at 12:20 p.m. on the North side of the courthouse lawn, and children ages 7 to 10 at 12:30 p.m. on the South side of the courthouse lawn.
