The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is planning to close Creamery Road and Schoolhouse Road in Franconia Township next week for bridge demolition, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, December 2, through Friday, December 13, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Schoolhouse Road will be closed and detoured weeknights between Kulp Road and Halteman Road. During construction, motorists will be directed to use Route 113 (Harleysville Pike), Allentown Road and Wambold Road; and
  • Tuesday, December 3, through Friday, December 6, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Creamery Road will be closed and detoured between Allentown Road and Freed Road. During construction, motorists will be directed to use Allentown Road and Morwood Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the construction areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
