Blood Urgently Needed In Lake Forest: Blood Drives Near You
Lake Forest residents who donate blood during the month of May will have the chance to win a trip to Seattle.
LAKE FOREST, CA — As the seasons continue to change, the American Red Cross's need for donated blood remains the same.
"Type O negative blood donors are especially needed right now," an American Red Cross news release said. "Type O negative is the universal blood type and what emergency room personnel reach for when there is no time to determine a patient's blood type, in the most serious situations."
Residents who donate blood from May 1 through May 19 will receive a $10 e-gift card to a merchant of choice, the news release said.

In addition, throughout the entire month of May, blood donors will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the 2023 MLB All-Star Game in Seattle, Washington.
Residents who donate blood between May 20 and May 31 will receive a free and exclusive Red Cross beach towel.

In Lake Forest, residents can schedule to make an appointment to donate blood here.
- May 19, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Herbalife, 20481 Crescent Bay Drive.
- May 22, 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Santiago de Compostela Church, 21682 Lake Forest Drive.
- May 25, noon to 6 p.m., Lake Forest Sports Park & Recreation Center, 28000 Rancho Parkway.
