May is full of fun activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.

Peoria Players presents 'The Wedding Singer'

Peoria Players will present its run of the hit romantic comedy musical "The Wedding Singer" with performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 12, Saturday, May 13, and Sunday, May 14, at the theater, 4300 N. University St. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.peoriaplayers.org.

More Than Pink Walk

The 2023 Komen Peoria More Than Pink Walk will take place Saturday, May 13, at the Metro Centre, 4700 N. University St. The site will open at 6:30 a.m. and the opening ceremony will kick off the walk at 8 a.m. The event will help raise funds to increase awareness of and fight to end cancer. Peoria Heights Fine Art Fair

Come to the Heights on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to support the arts, the region’s many professional artists and locally owned shops and restaurants. Artists’ tents will line Prospect Road between Glen and Kelly avenues, which will be closed for this free event.

New exhibit at Peoria Riverfront Museum

"Body Worlds RX," the world's most popular touring exhibition, will open for the first time in Peoria on Saturday, May 13, at the Riverfront Museum. The exhibition features real human specimens preserved through plastination, a technique that removes the fluids from the body and replaces them with plastics that harden. The exhibit will be open during regular museum hours and runs through Summer 2023.

Peoria Chiefs in action

The Peoria Chiefs will take on the Dayton Dragons at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, May 14, at Dozer Park. OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois will be presenting "Kid's Day," with $5 tickets for children and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game.
