Orlando community rallies for rights of Florida’s marginalized communities at Lake Eola

ORLANDO, Fla. — Several organizations are taking part in what they’re calling the “March for Our Dreams and Freedom” in downtown Orlando.

They’re advocating for the LGBTQ-plus community as a state ban on gender-affirming care heads to court.

A variety of groups are expected to come out Monday night to talk about legislation in Tallahassee that they feel targets immigrant communities, the transgender community, LGBTQ+ people, students, reproductive rights, and more

“We’re looking at a situation where our democracy is being eroded,” Felipe Sousa-Lazaballet said. “This is the reason why so many of our groups came together to say that’s it. That’s how we are. That’s not what Central Florida is about.”
