4 More Cherry Hill Residents Die From Coronavirus

The deaths took place from April 28 through May 2, and raised the total number of fatalities countywide to 207.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Four Cherry Hill residents were among 10 new coronavirus deaths reported in Camden County on Thursday. The deaths took place from April 28 through May 2, and raised the total number of fatalities countywide to 207.

Two women in their 80s, a woman in her 60s and a man in his 90s were among the new deaths announced on Thursday. The following information is available about all the most recent deaths:

  • Case 1: Male, 70s, Voorhees
  • Case 2: Female, 80s, Cherry Hill
  • Case 3: Male, 90s, Cherry Hill
  • Case 4: Female, 100s, Barrington
  • Case 5: Male, 60s, Runnemede
  • Case 6: Male, 90s, Merchantville
  • Case 7: Female, 80s, Cherry Hill
  • Case 8: Female, 70s, Pine Hill
  • Case 9: Female, 80s, Voorhees
  • Case 10: Female, 60s, Cherry Hill

“It is with great sadness that we announce ten additional deaths caused by coronavirus in Camden County this evening,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “Today, our total number of fatalities exceeds 200 for the first time since this pandemic began. I ask that the entire community reflect on those we have lost and keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to navigate this crisis. Today, the New Jersey Department of Health released a troubling public service announcement regarding the number of state residents who have suffered heart attacks and other treatable ailments because they feared going to the hospital or emergency room. I want to assure our residents that the health care systems in Camden County and throughout New Jersey are safe and prepared to safely provide the care that you need.”

Eight Cherry Hill residents were also among 43 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Camden County on Thursday. The total number of positive coronavirus cases in Camden County is now 3,750, 997 of which are connected to the county’s 56 long-term care facilities. Nursing homes are also connected to 156 of the county’s 207 deaths, according to the Camden County Department of Health.

Trace investigations are underway in all new cases. The following information is available for all new cases in Cherry Hill:

  • Two men in their 80s;
  • A woman in her 50s;
  • A man in his 60s;
  • Two women in their 70s; and
  • Two women in their 80s.
