  1. Idaho National Lab's fire department is beginning preparations for the 2023 wildfire season by reviewing procedures and lessons learned from previous seasons. Roadside mowing, improved fire buffers, and increased emphasis on coordination with regional agencies will form the backbone of this year's readiness measures, alongside the construction of fuel management zones meant to reduce the possibility of large scale blazes. At least 22 firefighters are on duty at all times, and the force can be replenished to a total of 75 if necessary. (KPVI News 6)
  2. Idaho Falls' Field of Honor has been prepared for Memorial Day by the Idaho Falls Exchange Club and 40 volunteers, who set up 1,000 American flags at the site. This star-studded dedication for veterans is in its 11th year thus far. The Freeman Park fields will be open all day and night throughout the weekend and will be lit day and night, with flags up until 4:00 p.m. Monday. (LocalNews8.com)
