Three injured in a rollover crash in Fresno County. The vehicle struck two parked RVs

A rollover crash Saturday evening left three people injured along Highway 99 in Fresno.

The incident took place at 11:30 p.m. on and alongside the highway at the Cedar Avenue on-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Sgt. Jason Steinhauer said a Chevy Silverado sideswiped another truck that was following a trailer. It went off the highway and down an embankment, north of Central Avenue. The vehicle overturned and went through an electric chain-link fence before striking two RVs in the RV Country parking lot.

Steinhauer said one person was thrown from the vehicle and a 17-year-old driver and another passenger also were injured.

CHP located a groundskeeper at the RV lot who was able to shut off the electrical flow to the fence, allowing the two people still inside the truck to be loaded into an ambulance. Steinhauer said the other person was stretchered to the ambulance while crying and screaming.

Steinhauer said there were moderate to major injuries.

It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor, the CHP stated.
