TEXARKANA, Texas -- Four films are scheduled for this season's Movies in the Park series, which begins Thursday.
The city Parks and Recreation Department will screen "Top Gun: Maverick," "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile," "Black Adam" and "Papa's Delicate Condition" near the airplane in Spring Lake Park.
All screenings are free of charge and will begin at dusk. Concessions will be available.

May 25 -- "Top Gun: Maverick"

After 30 years, Maverick is still pushing the envelope as a top naval aviator but must confront ghosts of his past when he leads Top Gun's elite graduates on a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those chosen to fly it.

Based on the children's book about a crocodile that lives in New York City. Lyle enjoys helping the Primm family with everyday chores and playing with the neighborhood kids, but one neighbor insists that Lyle belongs in a zoo.
June 8 -- "Black Adam"

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods -- and imprisoned just as quickly -- Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

If Jack Griffith's wife doesn't like the color of a neighbor's house, he'll arrange for it to be a house of a different color. If the owner of the ice cream parlor doesn't believe in selling triple banana splits for a penny, Jack will buy the establishment. And if Jack's little girl wants the pony in the circus parade, why not buy the entire circus? This last prank sends Amberlyn Griffith back to Texarkana in 1900, where her father is running for his third term as mayor. Jack follows, bringing the entire circus.
