Man killed in shooting near Seattle’s Alki Beach

The Seattle Police Department is investigating after a man was shot and killed near Alki Beach on Saturday evening.

According to SPD, officers were flagged down to help a man with a gunshot wound to his chest near the intersection of Southwest Lander Street and Marine Avenue Southwest just before 6:30 p.m.

Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and took the man to Harborview Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Police said the victim appears to have been driven from Whale Tail Park to the beach area near 56th Avenue Southwest and Alki Avenue Southwest where officers were flagged down.
