A teacher in Illinois was sentenced to probation after she pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with a student.

Stephanie L. Harmon, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and will spend the next four years on probation.

In the fall, the Watseka Police Department said officers received a tip that an Iroquois County teacher was in a sexual relationship with a student from the school.

After a one-month investigation, police arrested Harmon, on September 30.

The allegations of the sexual assault did not occur in the school.

During an interview with police, the victim and Harmon reportedly admitted the allegations were true.

Harmon was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.
