According to First Coast News, police say 17-year-old Madison Schemitz was with her mother and friends at Mr. Chubby's Wings when 18-year-old Spencer Pearson walked in. One of the friends told reporters that Schemitz and her mom immediately said, "Oh, we’ve got to go" when they spotted him.As they were attempting to leave, Pearson allegedly ran at Schemitz and her mom and began attacking them. According to News4Jax, a police report stated Person stabbed Schemitz 15 times while holding her arm. Schemitz's mother was reportedly stabbed in the leg and forehead and she tried to protect her daughter. Two bystanders stepped in to stop the attack, and one of them was slashed in the hand. As for Pearson, sources tell First Coast News he slit his throat and is now in the hospital. He is charged with two counts of first-degree attempted premeditated murder and aggravated battery.Tatiana Cruceta, Schemitz's older sister, says the family is confident she will recover."Madison is a fighter, you know. She’s going to make it through this, and I know she is going to walk out of this hospital," she said. Pearson's arrest warrant says he began following and harassing Schemitz in April of this year. "There were some issues in the past after they'd broken up where he was threatening her safety. My mother was looking to get a restraining order against him, so this was definitely premeditated," Cruceta said.Two GoFundMe pages have been created for the family: one by friends of Schemitz’s mother and one by supporters of her father. Schemitz’s mother released the following statement:“I would please ask for privacy at this time but ask everyone to pray for my daughter. She is the strongest, most amazing person I know.
