What is FootGolf?

FootGolf was created in the Netherlands in 2008, quickly blossoming into a sport with 45 national federations recognized by FIFG, its governing body. To put it eloquently, its president Laura Balestrini describes it as: "The ultimate hybrid sport combining the skills of football (soccer) with the elegance of golf".

FootGolf is played on golf courses, following golf's rules and scoring. To put it simply, it's like golf with a soccer ball and 21 inch diameter cups that the balls sink into. Despite seeming simple to those who haven't played, it's very challenging for soccer players without a background in golf.
