Twice-a-month series aims to educate consumers about the category

SARASOTA, Fla. – DutchCrafters, an online retailer of Amish made furniture, has launched a podcast that aims to offer educational content about the category.

The company’s website, www.dutchcrafters.com, offers a wide mix of mostly solid wood bedroom, dining, occasional and office furniture as well as upholstery including sofas, sectionals, recliners and chairs.

The podcast is produced by Jake Smucker, company multimedia producer and graphic designer and Beth Rice and Milca Rivera, of the company’s marketing team.  The first few episodes will educate listeners about five common misconceptions about Amish furniture and also offer tips on shopping for Amish furniture.  They will also go behind the scenes with employees at various Amish woodshops

The company said that the purpose is to provide “fun and educational content about Amish furniture” instead of simply focusing on DutchCrafters as a company. As such, it will also offer a glimpse into the craft as well as glimpses into “Amish life from an Amish furniture perspective.”

“While we’ve found that shoppers love learning about Amish furniture through our videos on YouTube and dutchcrafters.com, they don’t often watch a 30-minute discussion of a topic on video and that’s what makes a podcast the perfect medium for a deep-dive into a topic related to Amish furniture,” Smucker said. “The podcast offers us an opportunity to blend DutchCrafters employees’ wealth of knowledge about Amish furniture with our multimedia production capabilities to offer Amish furniture fans a new way to learn about the furniture and the people behind it.”

Listeners can tune into The Amish Furniture podcast at anchor.fm/dutchcrafters or wherever they tune into their favorite podcasts. New episodes go live every other Wednesday.
