She used to be known simply as "Hugh Grant's girlfriend." But Elizabeth Hurley has made quite a name for herself in the fashion world.

With no prior experience in modeling, Hurley was named a new spokeswoman for Estee Lauder in 1995, when she was only 29. Following her success with the beauty company, which she still continues to work with today, Hurley landed a number of film and television roles, one of her most iconic being Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

And the 53-year-old bombshell continues her reign as a style icon today. The mom-of-one is never afraid to test the red carpet waters in a eye-catching color, revealing cut-out or daring dress. Who could forget that scandalous Versace gown, held together by just a few safety pins, back in 1994?

"That was the first time in my life I'd ever borrowed a dress, first time I'd ever worn couture. People still remember that dress now, bizarrely," the model reminisced to Today.
