Nolan Clifton Willhaus, 63, of Alden, Kansas, passed away March 8, 2024, at his home. He was born April 1, 1960, in Sterling, Kansas, the son of Harvey Donald and Marilyn (Halley) Willhaus. Nolan has resided in Alden for the past ten years, formerly of Sterling. He graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 1978 and attended North Central Kansas Technical College, where he studied mechanics. Nolan was farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Midland United Church of Christ. Nolan enjoyed drinking beer, mud racing and especially spending time with his family. On August 9, 2016, Nolan was united in marriage with Paula Carter in Alden. He is survived by his wife, Paula of Alden, KS; mother, Marilyn Willhaus of Sterling, KS; two children, Clinton Willhaus and wife Molly of Nickerson, KS and Christen Dreiling and husband Josh of Nickerson, KS; two stepchildren, Ashley Maxwell and husband Austin of Sterling, KS, and Brandi Clark and husband Jeremy of Sterling, KS; four siblings, Byron K. Willhaus of Sterling, KS, Cedric R. Willhaus of Wichita, KS, Teresa A. Maxwell and husband Mike of Sterling, KS, and Verlan D. Willhaus and wife Stephane of Pretty Prairie, KS; four grandchildren, Harper Willhaus, Hadley Willhaus, Larissa Dreiling, and Easton Dreiling; six step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nolan is preceded in death by his father. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Friends of Animals Rice County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
