50-year-old California man arrested in connection to death of Mill City roommate

A California man who has been living in Mill City was arrested and is being held in the Linn County Jail in connection to the death of his roommate, Sheriff Michelle Duncan said.

Duncan said deputies responded to a report at 10:58 p.m. Wednesday of a male shot in the 300 block of NW Alder Street in Mill City and found Brian Rendon, 52, deceased in his home.

A preliminary investigation determined Rendon was shot by his 50-year-old roommate, Benjamin Harris. Court records show he is from Crescent City, California.

Harris was arraigned Friday afternoon on a single charge of second-degree murder.
