1 Pronounced Dead after Fatal Accident near Lancaster Road in Oakdale

OAKDALE, CA (May 6, 2021) – Early Friday morning, a woman was killed in a head-on collision with a box truck on Highway 108.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 6:00 a.m.

A woman was driving a sedan westbound on SR-108 east of Lancaster Road when she reached a curve in the road. She let her car drift into the oncoming lane, right in front of a box truck.

The vehicles then collided head-on. Officers claim she was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition, the surrounding area on Highway 108 was closed during preliminary duties. But, the roadway has since reopened. There were no other casualties recorded.

At this point, it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.

Throughout most of the morning, one-way traffic was in effect. The highway was cleared by 10:30 a.m., although some traffic could still be there.
