There are currently no retail sportsbooks open in Virginia, with the Old Dominion not currently having any casino locations for one to open in.
There are plans for this to change, though.

Virginia legalized sports betting in January 2021, however, due to the lack of physical casino locations in Old Dominion there are no retail locations as of yet. This means most of the recent developments have been in focused on approving casino locations that could hold sportsbooks.
So far four casinos are under construction in Virginia, with locations planned in Bristol, Danville, Norfolk, and Portsmouth. However, state capital Richmond rejected building a casino in city limits when the motion was put to a referendum in November 2020.

The history of Virginia Sports Betting
As with many states, Virginia first began to explore legalizing sports betting when the Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018. There are currently licenses for 12 online-only sportsbooks, with additional ones for online sportsbooks that partner with casinos or professional sporting organizations. This could bring the total number of legal online sportsbooks in Virginia to over 18.
