Two weeks after its kid sibling festival Day In Day Out unveiled its lineup, Capitol Hill Block Party is ready to show its summer hand.
The long-running bash on the Hill will again swarm the Pike-Pine corridor July 19-21 spreading 70 performances across three days and eight stages of rhythmic bedlam. Headlining the 26th annual blowout with a dance-centric upper card is electronic maestro Kaytranada; dance-pop star Kim Petras, who became just the second transgender woman to win a Grammy last year with her Sam Smith collab “Unholy”; and bedroom pop prince Still Woozy.
Beyond the headliners, some of the bigger names include synth-rocking LA trio Cannons, electronic producers Elderbrook and Mindchatter, mashup DJ and Block Party alumni Girl Talk, sizzling pop artists Chappell Roan (who’s on tour with Olivia Rodrigo) and Becky Hill, Swedish electro-goth COBRAH, indie rockers The Beaches — who are fresh off headlining two nights at Neumos last month — Slow Pulp and viral rap duo Flyana Boss.
Other artists to watch: post-hardcore hell-raisers Show Me the Body, the genre-busting Tkay Maidza, indie-rock songsmith Annie DiRusso, wavy R&B/bedroom pop artist Nourished by Time and a battalion of Seattle all-stars like THEM, breakout rapper Oblé Reed and Akira Galaxy — a Seattle-reared, LA-based dream-pop artist who unleashed her impressive debut “What’s Inside You” EP in January. Three-day passes ($225-$345) go on sale to the general public 9 a.m. Friday at capitolhillblockparty.com, but a presale now underway through the festival’s newsletter will save $26.
