Joseph P. Runk

Joseph P. Runk, 82 of Middletown passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.

Joseph was born in Iselin to his late parents Joseph P. and Anne (nee Elko) Runk, and has resided in Middletown for the past 45 years where he raised his loving family.

Joseph was predeceased by his devoted wife Patricia A. (nee Novak) Runk on June 3, 2005 and his parents.

Surviving are his 2 sons, Michael of Long Branch and Thomas and wife Jacqueline of Wall Twp., his 4 grandchildren Morgan, Breonna, Brandon Baysura(Alyssa), and Jordan Petitta, a great grandson Jayden Petitta, and his brother Michael and wife Judy of Auburn, MI.

Joseph graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson and had a successful career at AT&T, Morristown as an Accounting Executive for over 30 years.

He had a passion and love of golf, fishing and mastered the skill in building antique and race cars. Joseph will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted Father and Pop Pop for his Family.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 424 Lincoln Ave., Avon by the Sea, NJ 07717. Interment in the Runk family plot in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
