American revolutionaries fought British forces for freedom twice Saturday afternoon and they’ll do it again Sunday, all part of a weekend of reenactments hosted by the Huntington Beach Historical Society.
Throughout the day Saturday, battles raged on behind the library, cannon fire echoed across the park, orders were barked as troops drilled. Saturday’s schedule also included demonstrations of colonial life, lectures and performances.
The reenactments continue on Sunday, starting with a church service at 9 a.m. that is open to the public. There is an artillery demonstration at 10 a.m., battles at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., 18th century dancing at 1:30 p.m. and more.
