Easter egg hunts, trails, crafts and other holiday activities for children

SEVERAL venues are celebrating Easter with things for children to do and see over the school holidays.

At the River & Rowing Museum in Mill Meadows, Henley, interactive family activities are running from today (Friday) to Sunday, April 14.

From 10am to 3.15pm each day, there is an Easter egg hunt, which costs £2 per trail.

The trail takes you around Mill Meadows to learn more about birds and their eggs while looking for chocolate goodies.

On Wednesday, April 3, from 10.30am to 11.30am, there will be Easter bag printing.

Visitors can create a bag with their own transfer design (most suitable for children over five years old). The cost is £7.50.

When the bag is made, children can go on a self-led hunt of the museum to solve a riddle and receive a treat. On Thursday, April 4, from 10.30am to 11.30am, join Camilla for printmaking fun and games. Children can create their own games using block printing (most suitable for children over five). The cost is £7.50.

On Monday, April 8, from 10.30am to 11.30am, during Nice Mice with Maddy, visitors will make a flower and a mouse height chart (most suitable for children aged six and under). Cost £7.50.

On Wednesday, April 10, from 11.15am to 12.45pm, Mr Toad’s tea party will have crafts, singing and stories followed by a tea party with Mr Toad himself. Cost £12.

The Easter trail at Tumblestone Hollow at Stonor Park is now open for bookings.

Running from today to Sunday, April 14, the trail has a nature walk, craft activities and storytelling sessions against the backdrop of the grounds and the woodland adventure playground.

There are plenty of refreshments to buy and gardens and walkways to explore. Cost £11.50 adults, £12.50 children. Visit www.stonor.com

The Easter egg hunt at Greys Court runs until Sunday, April 14, from 10am to 5pm daily (last entry at 4pm). The trail costs £3, which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan and Free From chocolate egg.

Children can balance on beams, explore a maze and run between giant spring flowers.

There will be an Easter egg trail at Caversham Court Gardens tomorrow (Saturday), from 2pm to 4pm.

The Friends of the gardens will host an Easter nature quiz and all young competitors will win an Easter egg or non-dairy treat (children must be accompanied by an adult).

Entry is free but donations to the Friends of Caversham Court Gardens are welcome.

Reading Museum in Blagrave Street has lots of Easter activities.

The big multicoloured Easter egg hunt runs throughout (£2 per trail).
